Who do you worship trust in and believe in? You would probably answer “Jesus Christ, the Son of God.” It is true we have to believe in Yeshua to be saved, but where in the Bible does Yeshua say “worship Me”? If Yeshua never said “worship Me,” why then do we sing songs to Yeshua, worship Yeshua and build a religion based on His name?
Dont get me wrong, the Bible is very clear we need Yeshua, and we can’t live without what He did for us at the cross. (John 14:6). Without His death on the cross for our sins, we would be eternally lost. The Bible is also very clear when it says Yeshua is Yehovah, so there is no question about His divinity. (John 1, 8:58). Even though we know the Bible says Yeshua is God and we can’t live without what He did for us at the cross, we can’t get past the fact that Yeshua never tells us to worship Him.
The Bible says in John 1:12, 3:16 to be saved we have to believe in and accept Yeshua (Jesus Christ). When we believe in someone, our faith shows itself in how we live our lives. (James 2:10-26). If you believe in and accept Yeshua, it has to show itself in a decision to live your life as He lived His life. (1. John 2:6). Because we believe in Him, we have to lay down our own lives, take up our crosses, and follow Him by imitating His life the way Paul imitated His life. (1. Cor 11:1, Matt 16:24-26)
If you imitate His life, you have to live as a law-abiding Jew always obeying every commandment in the Torah (the law of Moses) which applies to your gender. There are a lot of commandments that still applies to you, regardless of your gender, but you need to physically be in Israel and have access to a temple to obey them. These commandments still apply to us, but because we are now outside of Israel and dont have access to a temple we cant obey them right now.
If you imitate His life, you have to worship as He did. He never worshiped Himself and never prayed to Himself even though He several times told His disciples He is God. He worshiped His Father Yehovah and prayed to His Father Yehovah. The reason why He came was not to be worshiped but to open a way back for us to Yehovah (John 14:6) when He died on a cross for our sins.
So if we will accept and believe in what He did for us on the cross, our faith in the cross will show itself in a repented life obeying every commandment in the law of Moses that applies to our gender. The Bible says if we do this we will be righteous (1.John 3:7) and reconciled to God. (John 3:16). It will also show itself in a decision to worship and pray as He did. He never worshiped Himself, He never prayed to Himself, so if we believe in HIm and have accepted Him, we have to pray as He did and worship as He did by choosing to pray to Yehovah and worship Yehovah.
What Yeshua did was and is the most important thing in our lives, we can’t live without the cross. But we can’t get past the fact that nowhere in the Bible does Yeshua instruct us to pray to Him, worship Him or even sing songs to Him.
If you believe in Yeshua and have accepted Him as your Lord and Savior, you have to do what He did and worship Yehovah, pray to Yehovah and obey Yehovah.
